As part of the Financial Due Diligence team, the role involves the following responsibilities:

  • Participating in financial due diligence assignments in the context of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, serving both corporate and private equity clients;
  • Identifying key risks and gaining insight into value drivers and the performance of the target business;
  • Adding value to transactions by translating key findings into price adjustment considerations;
  • Analyzing and presenting financial information (including income P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements), as well as underlying key performance drivers;
  • Assessing key valuation metrics used to bridge enterprise and equity value by analyzing underlying EBITDA, working capital requirements, and net (financial) debt;
  • Providing insight into other financial and non-financial risks and opportunities relevant in a transaction context;
  • Working in close collaboration with the client's M&A team and other due diligence workstreams (legal, tax, pensions, environmental, etc.);
  • Operating in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to work on cross-border projects.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of clients and multidisciplinary projects, creating continuous learning opportunities and professional challenges. The role involves frequent interaction with clients and require travel to multiple client sites on a national and occasionally international basis.

Skills & Qualifications

The following qualifications, expertise, and skills support success in this role:

  • A Master's degree, combined with at least three years of experience in areas such as audit and/or other M&A-related roles;

  • Strong accounting knowledge and a solid understanding of corporate finance concepts;

  • Proficiency in MS Office and an interest in working with data analytics tools (e.g. Power Query);

  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to take ownership of work and operate independently when required;

  • Confidence in working with AI tools, combined with a critical and responsible mindset when applying AI in daily tasks and team collaboration;

  • Excellent bilingual verbal and written communication skills (English and Dutch, or English and French);
  • Enthusiasm for working in a project-based environment;

  • Ability to work independently within multidisciplinary (deal) teams, combined with a strong interest in understanding and addressing complex business challenges.
