Roles & Responsibilities

KPMG Ranked #TopEmployerBelgium2025! #TopEmployer

KPMG in Belgium is a purpose-led, values-driven organization and a proud equal opportunities employer. We’re committed to creating a respectful, inclusive and barrier-free workplace that allows all of our people to reach their full potential. We encourage you to come as you are, because we believe that a diverse workforce is key to our success and that our differences lead to stronger insights and innovation. We welcome all qualified candidates to apply and hope you unlock opportunities with us. #comeasyouare at #KPMGBelgium!

As a Manager within our Financial Risk Management (FRM) practice, you will lead multidisciplinary engagements to advise clients on how to adequately identify, measure and manage their financial risks (market, credit, liquidity, and operational domains). You will manage project delivery teams, provide strategic insights, and support clients in strengthening their risk frameworks, modelling capabilities, governance structures, and regulatory compliance — in a context of an evolving business environment and regulations. In this role, you combine hands-on delivery with true consultancy: acting as a trusted advisor to clients and as a go-to coach internally. You will also contribute to business development and the growth of the FRM practice.

What will you do

  • Lead and manage FRM advisory projects from planning to execution, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations (with a focus on the financial sector).
  • Assess clients’ financial risk frameworks, policies, and processes; identify gaps and propose enhancements.
  • Oversee the development, validation, and implementation of risk methodologies / frameworks and models (e.g., credit risk / IFRS 9 / IRB, market risk, ALM/IRRBB, liquidity risk, stress testing).
  • Manage project teams, review deliverables, and ensure high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying client needs, shaping proposals, and representing KPMG in the market.
  • Deliver insights through presentations, workshops, and reports tailored to (senior) stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor junior colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.

Skills & Qualifications

You're a strong candidate if you can demonstrate

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in (financial) risk management in the financial sector.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end risk management frameworks, including risk appetite, policies, governance, second-line oversight, stress testing, Capital & Liquidity adequacy and risk reporting.
  • Relevant experience with balance-sheet dynamics and related prudential/financial risks (incl. ALM, IRR and Liquidity risks).
  • Relevant experience working with the European regulatory framework in the banking sector (Basel Framework, ECB/SREP and SRB expectations).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent by experience) in a financial / quantitative domain, complemented when possible by certifications (such as FRM).
  • Affinity with “emerging risks” and technologies affecting the risk function (e.g. AI, ESG) is considered a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to engage with senior stakeholders and convey complex concepts in a clear, structured manner.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and drive impact.
  • Fluency in English and at least one of Dutch or French.

We offer

As a certified Top Employer we offer:

  • An attractive remuneration package with a great number of extra-legal benefits (premium electric company car + charging card, net daily and monthly allowances, bonus, Apple/Android personal device and many other benefits tailored through our cafeteria plan).
  • Flexible work arrangements to ensure a healthy work-life balance (picking up kids from school, doctor’s appointment, working from home,…) and the possibility to work from anywhere 20 days per year.
  • Comprehensive insurance package including group insurance with full KPMG contributions, hospitalization insurance and optional outpatient options (dental & eye care, medical consultations and registered medication).
  • Career development opportunities combined with trainings based on your personal goals and aspirations.
  • An inclusive, international culture where personal growth, mutual trust and lifelong learning is fostered.
  • A buddy and performance manager to support and guide you throughout your career at KPMG.
  • Great team building activities and sport & wellbeing events (Brussels Marathon, Antwerp 10 Miles, 1000 kilometers for KOTK, river clean-ups, plant a tree and many more…) through our Together@KPMG & KPMG Foundation programs.

KPMG has a commitment to sourcing candidates directly and as such we do not accept speculative CV’s from agencies.
