Advisory - Senior Advisor

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and support to banking clients in identifying and managing financial risks, including credit, market, liquidity, operational, and regulatory risks
  • Assess and enhance clients' existing risk management frameworks, methodologies, and policies in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (including Basel III/IV, EMIR, MiFID II, etc.)
  • Collaborate with client teams to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies
  • Assist clients with risk assessments, stress testing, and scenario analysis to measure the impact of various risk factors on their financial stability
  • Support clients in meeting regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with Belgian and EU financial regulations
  • Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders on risk management processes and improvements
  • Provide training and coaching to clients' teams on best practices in financial risk management
  • Keep up to date with developments in financial risk management practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks within the banking sector

Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial risk management within the banking sector
  • Strong understanding of Belgian and European financial regulations, including Basel III/IV, MiFID II, and other relevant legislation
  • Expertise in risk assessment methodologies, stress testing, and scenario analysis
  • Familiarity with risk management software and tools 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Dutch and/or French is mandatory
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
