The M&A Advisory team, which is part of KPMG’s Deals & Strategy practice, aims at advising its clients on potential mergers, sales and acquisitions of companies. The team assists its clients throughout the various phases of a M&A transaction and intervenes as from the very early stages during which our client (can be a corporate or a private shareholder) contemplates about the strategic path forward, until the very last phase during which we assist in concluding and signing an agreement.
As a Manager of the M&A Advisory team, you will be responsible for supporting business origination efforts, lead focused streams of execution on transactions and support our senior M&A leadership team.
What will you do?
As a Manager of the M&A Advisory team, you will be responsible for supporting business origination efforts, lead focused streams of execution on transactions and support our senior M&A leadership team.
Key responsibilities can be summarized as follows:
- Regarding transaction execution, you are expected to support key workstreams including a.o. preparing high-quality transaction documentation, due diligence coordination, financial modelling, in-depth financial and business plan analysis and valuation showing the required expertise in process management and across the entire transaction lifecycle;
- Assist with preparing value-added pitch content and supporting the strategic dialogue with our clients. You are expected to help build sector knowledge, map the M&A market for various sectors, assist in identifying key targets and gather the necessary market intelligence You are also expected to help build sector knowledge and intelligence to deepen our franchise’s expertise;
- In a nutshell you will need to have a strong desire to learn to support origination efforts in M&A;
- You will be required to actively contribute to the development of more junior members of our M&A team helping them to achieve high quality standards in transaction origination and execution;
- Over time, you will need to become a reliable point of contact for C-level client contacts, developing and sustaining strong and long-lasting client relationships and understanding of their broader business needs.

You will help our teams and clients to succeed if you have the following qualifications, expertise and skills:
- Master’s degree and minimum of 6 years of relevant experience;
- Experience with sell-side and buy-side M&A processes is required;
- Strong financial modelling skills incl. technical knowledge with proven competencies in investigative analysis of the business and sectors, mastering valuation principles and techniques (knowledge of DCF, LBO, comparable companies, precedent transactions etc.);
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to interpret data, generate insights, construct solutions and think out of the box;
- Experience in preparing and maintaining industry/company presentations and benchmarking materials and other process documents;
- Team player and experience working with diverse teams on an international level;
- Enjoy working in a project based working environment and have strong project management skills;
- Excellent organizational and planning skills and able to perform consistently at a high level and at times under high pressure while adhering to strict deadlines;
- Detail orientated and well organized with a strong work ethic, personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities;
- You confidently navigate AI topics and are able to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders, make ethically sound decisions and adapt to evolving technologies;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch.
